Canny Care

Alex has been a fantastic and unique carer for our elderly mother who wants to live independently but is very fragile, and lives a long way away from family. Alex takes a strategic “whole life” view of her client’s needs – medical (she is very well versed in the local NHS systems), practical, personal and social. My mother liked and trusted her on the first visit, and Alex has done everything from meal preparation, helping with phone installation, hospital visiting and even taking our mother out to a classical music concert. These things mean a very great deal to an elderly person and Alex’s company enriches our mother’s life. She has a strong overview of our mother’s situation – she is the person we always consult on the next steps of care. She is very communicative – we are kept very well up to date – and it is always a pleasure to talk with her. She has shown enormous flexibility in being able to attend and deal with unexpected events and we would be absolutely lost without her!
